Sustainability in Action!
Sustainability in Action is a youth exchange involving 20 participants from Switzerland, Italy, France and Spain and takes place from the 25th of August to 4th of September 2014 at the old train station of Le Creux-des-Biches (Switzerland).
This is the first international project promoted by our association "Les Coccinelles" and is an answer to our question on how to develop a more holistic interpretation of growth and sustainability when dealing with social and environmental issues in youth work.
With this youth exchange, our objective is to integrate tools of non-formal education for active citizenship and intercultural learning, to address burning environmental and social challenges of Europe, and activities which aim to foster sustainable living, inner and community resilience, personal development, understanding and feelings of connectedness to oneself to others and to wider social and environmental contexts.
Besides a Permaculture introduction, practical workshops (rocket stoves, pond and compost), introspective and self-examining activities (guided sweat lodge, music, dance, and meditation), we enjoy living in community sharing duties and supporting each other in this learning journey.
The project is partly granted by the transitional solution for the Erasmus+ by the Swiss Confederation
